Are Malabaris in Malaysia at a higher risk of developing certain diseases compared to the other communities in Malaysia?

Although there are no studies or statistics carried out within the community itself, disease patterns involving related population within and outside Malaysia seems to suggest the Malabaris are at higher risk to develop heart disease, diabetes and other related conditions compared to the general population. With the changing spectrum of diseases to diseases of affluence, we will have to look deeper into the lifestyle of the Malabari community to look for ways to overcome these conditions
