Prayers for people of Marad
By Jameela Abdul Malik
ASSALAMU ALAIKUM
This is a story of innocent people who were dragged into the violent situation
where they lost their freedom , job and beloved one They are suffering without
food, proper medication and education for their children. It goes like this….
Marad was a hitherto village near Kozhikode in Kerala until July 2003 where 8
Hindus were murdered and forty others were injured in a clash.
Even though the incident lasted barely eight minutes from the beginning to the
end but the impact is still effected by the people there.
The sudden attack were pre planned. . what happened in Marad was something that
was intended to spark off rioting, perhaps even a wave of retaliatory attacks.
And, given enough political irresponsibility, the masterminds behind. Marad may
yet succeed in pulling off their designs
When the police investigated they found stained weapons from a mosque nearby .
There is evidence that the men who carried out the murders in Marad were
Muslims, there is no proof whatsoever that they were people in Marad. Any how
everyone came to conclusion that every Muslim family including women in Marad
were involved. The people in Marad became violent and attacked every Muslim
houses . The Muslims fled from there with the help of police. Little did the
poor people know all these were the politicians manipulation
The poor women and old had to live as refugees for months. Some of the men were
even arrested as suspects
After a long discussion between two leaders (Muslim League and V.H.P) Muslim
families were escorted back to find that their home were robbed and all the
furniture and utensils, why not even their doors and windows were taken
Now, I may sound aggressive but the situation here is this … our Muslim brothers
and sisters are abandoned by the people there The poor and old are suffering
without any medical attention and starving without food They are being treated
as animals. They are not allowed to go beyond a certain boundary. That’s not
all…. the children are not going to school and they are not getting any job or
at least food to survive. . The promise by the government seem to be fatal once
again .
I know its not the topic of the month, but still let me, as some thing inside me
are forcing me to mail this to help some poor people out there . .
They are poor people …uneducated so no one to react but I feel that we can help
if we hold hands together
I may sound crazy ..but let me say ...Let us help them even though this will not
be a solution for their problem but a little stretch of help will be great
relief for the starving there
On this holy moth of Moulood and prayers let us do this too…. Let us at least
pray for them as they are our brothers and sisters I saw their tears and I know
you will too
MAY ALLAH BLESS
